Recently in church we were singing and worshiping to a song that had a phrase about Jesus being alone. And, no, I cannot remember the name of that song! However, it made me want to research the times Jesus was alone and why that was the case. In this blog I want to highlight four instances of when Jesus chose to be by himself. His reasons were strong and centered around prayer, rest, and preparation. Let’s dig in!

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past...This sounds like a command from God to forget what happened in our past. Can we forget? Is that even possible? No, not really. The memory of what happened, where it all went wrong is still there. But, yet, we are called to forget about it.

When we read this verse in 2 Corinthians, it is typically thought about in terms of money, finances, giving to others in need. And this is accurate! God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. But I want to change the way we view this verse. Let’s take off the lens of money and put on the lens of marriage and see what this verse says in a new way. We will dive into it phrase by phrase and see how this can relate to the marriage you have and perhaps the marriage you want to have.
