My life is a mess. My marriage is a mess. My kids are a mess. I am frustrated and don’t know what to do. My spouse won’t listen to me. We don’t communicate. We just fight all the time. I want to give up because I can’t do it anymore. I am a Christian and doesn’t God hate divorce? Shouldn’t I stay in this for the long haul because I promised to love forever while standing at the altar? What would my family and friends think? What about the kids?

Recently in church we were singing and worshiping to a song that had a phrase about Jesus being alone. And, no, I cannot remember the name of that song! However, it made me want to research the times Jesus was alone and why that was the case. In this blog I want to highlight four instances of when Jesus chose to be by himself. His reasons were strong and centered around prayer, rest, and preparation. Let’s dig in!

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past...This sounds like a command from God to forget what happened in our past. Can we forget? Is that even possible? No, not really. The memory of what happened, where it all went wrong is still there. But, yet, we are called to forget about it.
